PROJECTS / INTERESTS
Personal Project

Version 1

20230828_153019.jpg

Version 2

Robotics Hobby Project (In Progress)

  • Prototyping a robot platform with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (using Robot Operating System Version 2) and Arduino Uno Revision 3.

  • To see the robot in greater detail, please refer to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WTLyGh7un4

  • The capabilities of the robot are as follows:

    • It can move around in all directions (forward, backward, leftward, rightward and diagonally) with the mecanum wheels.

    • It can execute precise movements with the implementation of feedback loops with individual encoders for each wheel.

    • It has front infrared sensors for obstacle detection and hence avoidance.

    • Its side flaps can be angled to provide side/top protection. The initial idea for the flaps being angled to the top is to provide a platform for drones to land. Making the flaps movable provides unexplored potential future utility.

    • It has a back turret with 2 degrees of freedom that can shoot small balls at targets just for fun.

    • It has a front arm with 6 degrees of freedom that is of elbow length when fully extended. The purpose of the arm is to grip items and put them onto the side flaps when angled to the top.

    • It can either run fully autonomously and perform dedicated missions/tasks, or be controlled directly via a mobile application.

Academic Projects Done

Texas Instruments Robotics Systems Learning Kit - Advanced Kit

  • Prototyped an Internet of Things device with mobile capability via the platform.

  • Assembled, tested and troubleshot the platform.

  • Written software for all of the hardware components of the platform - sensors, actuators, communication devices, etc.

  • Implemented an algorithm to map unknown territories.

  • To see it in action, please refer to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSdHACDq3vI
